You may explore all of it.

Most of our fun will take place in the following arenas.

THE CAFE STAGE

From the outside, the Coffee Barn looks like just an old barn, but inside it has been fully converted to a functioning cafe environment, complete with espresso bar, a rustic and beautiful stage, and comfortable seating. Many people choose to spend a lot of their time here, just talking, drinking coffee or tea, and enjoying the open-mic and featured acts.

THE WORKSHOPS

These take place all over the grounds. The locations are printed on the program and will be announced. These are opportunities during the day to come into contact with new skills and interesting ideas about living a little closer to the land.

THE MAIN STAGE / KID VILLAGE

In the evenings we gather at the Main Stage--a giant circus-style tent--to celebrate with louder bands. See the blog with the music schedule. During the first part of the day, this is where kids (and adults) can be in the shade, play games and work on crafts.

THE MERCH MALL / GAME HALL / FILM STALL

This is a large(ish) air-conditioned modular building where all the performers and artists will have their CDs, etc. for sale. It also houses a pool table, air hockey, other games and an old piano. It has a giant deck on which food will be grilling all day, available for purchase. At night we'll be projecting some films relevant to themes of the event.

THE BATH HOUSE

Although we are out in the woods, we still have very nice bathroom and shower facilities. One young visitor exclaimed that they were "better than the ones at Disney World!"

TRAILS

Covenant Village has miles of well-marked trails. Festival attenders are encouraged to check it out.

CABINS

Covenant Village has very nice wooden cabins: spacious with bunks for up to eight people. These are available for rent. It's the most expensive way to camp, but if you go in and split with your friends, it's actually pretty cheap.

FOOD VENDING/COMMUNITY KITCHEN

This year we are very happy to have Josh Horevay as our food vendor. I can't think of anybody with a greater love for cooking food for people. In addition, this year we will have a Community Kitchen: A tent with a long grill where everyone is welcome to come cook their own food. Have some extra ingredients? Leave them for someone else. Any utensils/pots and pans found in the community kitchen may be used by anyone, but may not be taken out of the kitchen. Make sure you pick up your stuff before you leave for the weekend!

2010 Invitation

This is our second year putting on CGMM. We hope you can come. This fest is a great place for people of all ages to come listen to great music, meet new people, relax, and get away from regular life for a while in a fun, family-friendly environment.

A lot of people who come to the fest really appreciate nature, and would like to feel more connected to it: some a lot more, some just a little. Like last year, we’ll be hosting a number of workshops where presenters will teach us skills that might help. For those interested, we’ll also be trying to look a little deeper to think about why we care.

We hope you’ll choose to camp and spend a lot of time outdoors; but if you don’t want to, feel free to just come for the day, hang out in our café (“the Coffee Barn”) or the gameroom, or wherever. And there’s plenty for kids to do (like making instruments and flags for our parade!)

The fest is held on the grounds of Covenant Village camp, with 405 acres of forest, and miles of trails, not to mention a nice bathhouse with hot showers!

Hope to see you there.

jon and cgmm team
<img
